Shooting at Deer Creek Middle School

Our sincere thoughts and condolences go out to the victims involved in the shooting at Deer Creek Middle School in Denver, Colorado. Two eighth grade students, a girl and boy, were hospitalized after Bruco Eastwood shot at them as they were leaving school on Tuesday. David Benke, 57-year-old teacher at the school, tackled the Eastwood to the ground in the brief moments before he chambered another round. Assistant Principal Becky Brown heard the gunshots and ran outside, grabbing the gun as Benke held down the shooter.

Every moment is vital in these types of crisis situations. The moments in which David Benke charged the gunman stopped what could have been a fatal tragedy. Taking preventative measures is crucial. We urge you to do everything you can to protect the children, teachers and administrators at your schools. Invest in two-way radios to maximize your communication and security.

2wayradiodirect.com sells Motorola two-way radios to schools to help with safety, security, and event coordination.  Give us a call today to let us know how we can meet the needs of your school.

“Flawless Games” with Two-Way Radios

Technology is taken seriously at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. More than 2,000 people are working the technology logistics, serving 6,800 athletes and an expected 185 million viewers. Justin Webb, vice-president Olympic services for Bell, the telecommunications partner for the games, has expressed his desire for everything to run perfectly, saying the goal is “flawless Games.”

Attendants at the gate use two-way radios to communicate with coordinators who tell them the right time to send athletes on their run. Between all the venues, there are 7,000 two-way radios.

Aside from maintaining organization at the Games, two-way radios are used for security. Air security uses two-way radios to communicate with air traffic services. CF-18 Hornet fighter jets are monitoring airspace within and surrounding the venues.

And a reminder to spectators: don’t even think about bringing your two-way radios into the Games. Two-way radios made the list of restricted items.

2 Shot in California Church During Service

Our hearts and prayers go out to two young men who were shot while attending church in Richmond, CA yesterday.  A quick read of the story states that three hooded individuals walked into a church and looked around started shooting.  Roughly 5 shots were fired and two individuals were hit out of a congregation of 100 or so members.

2wayradiodirect.com specializes in selling Motorola two way radios to churches to assist with safety, security, and event coordination.  No Church is too small to have a coordinated response to such random acts of violence.  Unfortunately, as this example proves, no church is  exempt from having violent acts occuring within their walls.  The Deacons of this church recognized a problem and acted to stop it.  Had they been using two way radios, Police could have been called quicker and the situation might have been averted alltogether.

Give us a call today to learn more about Motorola two way radios and how churches are using our products to provide a higher level of safety for their members.
